Cy decided today that he would like to be called Captain Cy. Maybe it's because one of his nursery friends is also called captain, but I think the man in him wants to think he can do anything.
After watching Joseph, Eric, Marty, Robin, and James work on our bathroom project (i.e. rip out all of the walls, copper pipes, toilets, showers, sinks, tubs, tile, etc. in a our only bathrooms), I have determined that it takes a lot of courage to remodel. My heart leaped anxiously inside of me when I saw Joseph take the saws-all and cut out the three inch main stack that was the heart of our home. When we ripped up the first floor boards so that we could see down to the basement, I got a little nauseous.
"Aren't you scared? What if you cut through something really important?" I asked my dad today as he drilled through the concrete that contains our radiant tubing.
"You fix it," he responded. "Even if it means ripping up all of the concrete and starting over."
That's gutsy.
I had to leave the scene to put the Captain Cy to bed, and hopefully, when I arrive at my house in the morning, I will have a toilet waiting for me, rather than a big pile of crushed concrete. Since I can't be there helping, I'll just look at Cy and pray that his illusions will give him enough courage to face the super-human tasks far ahead of him in the future. It's not easy being a Captain.

I would like to be called Captain as well. I think Captain Cy had it totally down pat. Good luck with the bathroom! I hate the process of remodeling, but I sure love the after its done part.
